JUNE 2026 UPDATE
We appreciate the opportunity to provide you with another update on the ministry here in Bolivia and across South America. We hope you find encouragement in our efforts to share the gospel here.
In recent weeks, our churches and outreach programs have had a couple of evangelistic opportunities. The first was a donut day, where we invited church members to bring a visitor along. Each visitor, as well as their host, received a donut. While the turnout varied across churches, each welcomed visitors who heard the gospel message. We also celebrated Mother’s Day on May 27th. Our family focused this celebration on the children’s club we’ve been involved with over the past year, which resulted in the best attendance we’ve seen in several weeks or even months—with 16 mothers from the community joining us.
We are preparing to return to our first church to provide some assistance for a short time. The pastor we had in place resigned over a year ago, Attendance had been declining due to his inability to fulfill certain responsibilities stemming from personal family issues. The church appointed a new pastor, but unfortunately, he required a surgery shortly after his arrival, which left him still struggling with his health. A few months later, he underwent another surgery to address the ongoing issues, keeping him out of commission for six months or more. During this time, the church faced yet another decline. Thankfully, he seems to have mostly recovered and is ready to rebuild. Our goal is to address some maintenance issues on the church property and support him in rebuilding the congregation. He will remain the pastor while we help him regain stability.
Bolivia is once again facing political unrest, with significant protests, blockades, and violence occurring in and around the capital city. While the unrest is fueled by various issues, many believe it is being supported by previous socialist figures aiming to regain power. Fortunately, our city has remained unaffected, and we have continued our ministry as usual. However, the capital has been locked down for over a month, with protesters preventing the entry of food, fuel, medical and other supplies, leading to a desperate situation. Thanks to our supporters, we have been organizing relief flights to La Paz to deliver food to our pastors in the city. One of these pastors mentioned that he had not had meat for over a month due to its absence in the markets. It appears that the situation there may worsen and become more violent in the coming days, so we are preparing to send more supplies as finances allow. Since The blockades require us to fly into the city, the increasing cost of the flights are making our efforts harder.
Lastly, we want to express our gratitude to those who showed interest in the church property in Venezuela that we mentioned in our last update. We are thrilled that the need was met within just a couple of days after our letter was sent. While we wait for the checks to arrive and be processed, we hope to finalize the purchase in the next week or so.
Thank you for taking the time not only to read this update but also to pray over the needs mentioned. Your prayers and support truly make a difference in our ministry every single week. We are grateful for you.
